Two Thousand Eight Hundred Twenty-one Days Part 2
Sumida EXPO, 2026, Tokyo, Japan
The first part of this work premiered at the Sumida EXPO festival in 2022 as a forty-minute video loop, installed in a darkened, old wooden row house where it ran for several weeks.
Last year I was invited back to Tokyo to show the recently finished second part which was shown as a one-night-only screening. 1 hour and 22 minutes featuring Japanese sound artist and musician Toshihiro Yanai who created and performed a live soundtrack for the film.
The page above, from his note book, is the score he used during the performance, complete with timestamps and visual cues.
Check out Yanai’s insta, here.
